DAC/AOC/AEC Cables

Shop LINK-PP compatible DAC, AOC, and AEC cables for short-reach data-center and HPC interconnects from 10G through 400G. This hub groups passive twinax DAC, active optical AOC, and related active copper assemblies—straight and breakout—EEPROM-coded for Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell, and other major platforms. Drill into 100G DAC/AOC, 200/400G DAC/AOC/AEC, or return to the optics hub when you need pluggable transceivers instead of fixed-length cables. Match host cage, rate, breakout map, and cable length on each product page before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

01.What is the difference between DAC, AOC, and AEC?
DAC (direct attach copper) is a passive or active twinax copper cable for very short reaches—typically under about 5–7 m depending on rate. AOC embeds optics in the connectors for longer multimode reaches with lighter weight and less EMI. AEC / active copper extends copper reach with onboard equalization. Pick by distance, power, bend radius, and whether the host expects a copper or optical cable assembly. See child stores such as 100G DAC/AOC for rate-specific SKUs.
02.Which rates and form factors does this DAC/AOC hub cover?
This hub aggregates LINK-PP SFP+/SFP28, QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP56, and QSFP-DD cable assemblies across 10G–400G. Use the on-page circle filters or open a child store—25G/10G/1G, 40G, 100G, or 200/400G—to narrow by speed.
03.How do I choose cable length for rack and row links?
Measure port-to-port path including verticals and slack—not just cabinet face distance. Passive DAC is ideal for same-rack or adjacent-rack jumps; AOC is usually better once you exceed the copper reach for that rate or need lighter, more flexible runs across a row. Always confirm the exact length SKU (0.5 m, 1 m, 2 m, 3 m, 5 m, 7 m, 10 m, etc.) on the product page.
04.Are these cables coded for Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and Dell?
Yes—select the Compatible PN that matches your OEM platform. LINK-PP DAC/AOC assemblies follow MSA electrical specs and are EEPROM-coded for the target brand so the host recognizes the part. Open a Cisco compatible listing (or Arista / Juniper / Dell hubs) when you already know the switch cable PN.
05.When should I use a breakout DAC instead of optics?
Breakout DACs (for example 100G QSFP28 to 4×25G SFP28, or 400G QSFP-DD to 2×200G QSFP56) are cost- and power-efficient for short TOR-to-server or leaf-to-NIC fan-outs when both ends support the breakout mode. For longer reaches or unstructured fiber plants, use pluggable optics from the optics hub plus structured fiber instead.
